Volunteers needed for
dig and sale!

Volunteers who help with the dig on Aug 14th and the sale on Aug 21st & 22nd will receive special iris as “payment” for their volunteer time. ISM is obtaining some unique new varieties that will only be available to members who volunteer. The Iris Demonstration Garden at the MN Landscape Arboretum is a very popular attraction for visitors during June. We dig approximately 1/3 of the iris varieties each year to keep the plants from getting overcrowded. Digging & cleaning the iris is dirty work, but everybody has a good time doing it! A portion is replanted (by the Arb’s gardeners) but the excess is sold as our fund-raiser. The sale days coincide with Flower Fest Weekend so it will be a busy, fun weekend to spend at the Arb!

--AND, there will be brand new iris for sale from the guest gardens from the AIS national convention! Members get first pick of these new varieties before they will be sold to the public: 9-10am Aug. 21st.

Contact Edie Godfrey if you can work a half-day shift at the sale or dig.
